Last week I got a chance to go on a solid 21 mile walk that started with 100 degrees of humid heat, and ended with an abysmal thunderstorm and torrential down pour (kinda fun). This morning it’s 55F and chilly. I do believe it’s likely good ole mother nature forgot what the transition from summer to spring is supposed to be like. Gotta marvel at her unpredictability.

Spring sun banishes the last of winter

The winter has finally thawed with spring’s refreshing kiss. This morning Michelle and I strolled through Old Westbury Gardens and were transported to an enchanting world far away from the dark and cold claws of winter. We were temporarily spirited away from never ending tasks, responsibilities, and the cares that haunted us for the past few months. My time is short today, but I’d like to share a few of images I captured while we wandered the grounds. In case your stuck inside wrestling with work, perhaps you can get a brief sense of the wonder and awe that fortune granted us, and sneak outside for a breath of fresh air.

East Coast Storm Reveals Washington DC is a Hotspot


While tracking the snowstorm that battered the east coast early this morning, I picked up on a curious mix of ice and rain over DC. Leaning on Occam’s Razor, the simplest solution is that it was just a coincidence and the snow changed to a mix in a spherical pattern due to weather systems. But what if there were some cause behind the shape?
