Talked with an engineer/coworker about the concept and some analogies to our interacting multiple model tracker. He mentioned hitting multiple semantic APIs at the same time and merging their information to get a better answer. loved the concept.
He was a psych graduate before going back and getting a physics degree so he also brought up sarcasm and keying in on the nuances of characters like:
, bolds, italics I mentioned we will have to rely somewhat (and leverage off of) the social media conversations where interactions occur (again stuff to think about after the prototype but highly relevant)

Last night worked with Eli on setting up Netbeans 6.7, scala, lift, environment vars, and a test project. Ran into some problems getting it working on his setup (he had to setup stuff in windows, originally was working linux). Either way learned some things about how the project works. working Mon-Wed will do what I can in evenings but not much cooking till later in the week.
Scala with lift is a little more complicated to get working than php (installation, a little more getting used to what/how it works), but will make things much easier later (pretty awesome language utilities) -

Just a heads up on some ideas I was thinking about this AM about what we’re doing: generating personalized/customized advertisements specific to a user.
We’re going to do this by using public available data, any other sources/feeds users authorize, and user feedback to develop an internal database(s). To go along with this we’ll need to develop algorithms to help pool semantic knowledge from multiple internet sources to merge/weight behavior and social connections.
Forget for a second that we’re targeting ads as final content. We are generating custom user web page experiences based on personal likes/dislikes. Imagine additional applications we can leverage with these tools/data? This could really be the beginning of a virtual assistant scouring the internet for information users want. It could literally learn about likes and dislikes. We could perform secondary analyses on the customized “agents/actors” to look for trends, groups, taxonomies, etc.

I’ve developed a new diagram (on slide 2) that begins to summarize how the Intelligent Advertising Media Manager effects the user-experience: https://files.getdropbox.com/u/1425649/IntelligentAdManager%20v2.pptx
I’ve also begun to develop the 1 to 2 page summary of the actual solution and the wider problems our offering will be able to solve: http://files.getdropbox.com/u/1425649/Intelligent%20Advertising%20Media%20Manager%20-%20Summary.docx
What do you think? Am I on the right track in describing what we will be able to accomplish?

Ok, I played around with the flow chart. Is it clearer now?
