As much as I am a google wave fanatic, Mark made me start talking on here. So, I am currently working on the twitter to ad platform code. Email me tjgillies@gmail.com or tjgillies@googlewave.com if you wanna say something, or have any questions :)

Groovy Tyler. Looking forward to learning some php from your familiarity. My 2month old skills needed some expert help and I was desperate enough to start forking over cash to experts in hopes of getting something pitchable for funding/business formation.

  • Welcome Tyler Gillies aboard

Tyler is comfortable messing around with php, and made several changes to the code today. He understood the idea immediately, and see’s some potential with it.

I’m seriously psyched to work on this one again. Php for the win I guess :D

Added a feedback email address to victusmedia.com frankensearch.appspot.com and updated victusmedia.appspot.com to at least not break (it’s empty atm). All feedback is directed to victusmediafeedback@gmail.com which forwards to my email.

Heyo guys, chatting with William Mougayar tomorrow about someof his expert knowledge tools at Equentia

    • messel 10:41 am on September 7, 2009 Permalink

Had a great conversation with William. Got a refreshing take on the market sector he is targeting with Equentia (professionals who don’t have much time to surf the web for relevant/low or no noise posts/articles/news)

He’s going to send some semantic reading info my way which I’ll gladly share with you guys. I’m going to explore the possibility of a feedback mechanism to help incorporate crowd sourcing/personalization into the semantic tag space. It’ll have to be simple at this stage.

Added a contributing authors box to the side of the P2. Man I have been stone walled in productivity for August. Time to fix that pronto. I’m going to start with adding user feedback pages. Any ideas we have that have potential test sites up, I’ll add a link to a common comment area.

Had a good chat with Zoltan and Domonkos. They liked the concept but can’t volunteer any effort quite yet. We’re still too early stage to begin a business relationship with the Ensemble team (they’re working hard on finding revenue now). Zoltan said after we have a working mockup (baseline), that they’d be more than happy to revisit where we are at.

Ryan any ideas on how we can clean up the landing page for victusmedia.com? It was a quick and dirty job to help gather early user feedback, with the assumption being that we’ll make it smoother and more user friendly over time. Maybe it’s time to iterate on this and actively get folks trying it out and leaving comments?

Heard back from Ensemble (Netflix winning team), I forwarded the email to you folks. What’s a good time for us to chat with them? Should we talk beforehand to get a solid/unified view of the problem we’re trying to solve?

Good background information from Fred Wilson on “The Ideal First Round Term Sheet”, he refers to a post by Chris Dixon (cofounder of Hunch), who I candidly asked (on Chris’ blog) if he’d consider a board member position for a would be venture. Fred’s post: http://www.avc.com/a_vc/2009/08/the-ideal-first-round-term-sheet.html

Of note, Fred Wilson mentioned Delicious had 100k users per month and wasn’t officially formed into a business structure when Union Squares invested in them. I think getting a functional tool & site, and building a user base would go a long way to helping us build investor confidence.

I liked this post a lot. Simplicity is key early on.

Mark, per Fred’s comments. I’ve heard from many folks VC’s, Angels and other entrepreneurs, “focus on building the team, product, getting customers and traction”. When you have those things in place fundraising is easier.
