what's stopping you from competing? I think if you can find the will to push yourself and master a skill or tackle a hard problem, then these leaders are the ones that will have to worry

Oddly enough, occasionally inspiring examples of humanity's ability serve to discourage me. For example when I see art so beautiful and compelling I feel like I can never compete; almost like a “why bother trying” because somebody else has already done it better than you. If more people felt this than inspired they would actually be having a net negative effect (through no fault or misdeed of their own).

Not saying that's reality or even likely; it's just me being a headcase, I'm sure.
